The Easter Bunny will be busy hopping all over DeKalb County this weekend in 2011! DeKalb, Sycamore, Genoa, Kirkland, Cortland and Waterman are all having Easter events for the kids this year. Just in case you want to hop along with him, we’ve provided links to the locations of each below. Enjoy!
Twilight Egg Hunt
Join the DeKalb Park District for a free twilight hunt of early Easter Eggs at Katz Park Thursday, April 21. This event is for 6th – 8th grade students. Parents are required to be on site at all times. Bring a flashlight and clothes for weather. We all meet at the shelter house before the hunt. Will you find the Special Golden Egg? Easter Egg Hunt at Hopkins Park
On Saturday, April 23rd, join the DeKalb Park District at 10am for the fun and the hunt as children discover those colorful eggs filled with treats that have been hidden around Hopkins Park by the elusive Easter Bunny. Toddlers through Third Grade, please come dressed for the weather and bring your own bag or basket to gather eggs in. Participants can turn in their plastic eggs for a treats.
In the event of a major weather concern the event will be moved to Haish Gym for egg scrambles. Please call Haish Gym at (815)756-8560 the day of the event no earlier than 9:00 am to confirm change of venue. Sponsored by the Kishwaukee Kiwanis Club.
Breakfast with the Bunny & Sycamore Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 23rd The Bunny is visiting Sycamore! Please join the Sycamore ark District as they welcome the Bunny to town and commemorate the event with breakfast, pictures, and art projects. This year, due to the popularity and trying to serve an increasing number of participants, breakfast will be offered at two different times. The first breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the later breakfast will begin at 8:40 a.m. Photos will be available, while supplies last, on a first come first serve basis for those who do not pre-register.
Contact the Community Center at 895-3202 if you have any questions. The breakfast will be finished in time for the Egg Hunt sponsored by the Sycamore Police Department, held at the Good Tymes Shelter beginning at 10:00am. For more information please visit the Sycamore Park District website.
9th Annual Genoa Easter Egg Hunt
Kids grab your basket and fill it with eggs and candy and maybe find a special prize egg in Genoa on Saturday, April 23rd at Chamberlain Park. Children will be separated by age groups for more fun. You will also get to see that special Easter Bunny too. The egg hunt will go fast so don’t be late. There is no cost for this event. Times will be: 10:00 am for ages 24 mo. and Under & 2-4. 10:30 for ages 5 and above.
The Kirkland Lions Club will hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 23rd at 1pm on the Hiawatha School Football field, weather permitting. Visit the Village of Kirkland website for more information.
Waterman Easter Egg Roll
Waterman Lions Club / Aurora Sportsman’s Club are sponsoring an Easter Egg Roll for all Waterman children up through 5th grade on Saturday, April 23rd at 10:30 am at the Indian Creek Middle School.
Cortland Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt
The Cortland Lions Club will hold it’s annual Free Easter Egg hunt at Cortland Lions Den on Saturday, April 23rd at 11am. Children will be separated into age brackets going up to twelve years old. As always, there will be a few eggs with surprises.
