How do I sign up to be a part of DeKalb County Online?
Signing up to be a part of DeKalb County Online (DCO) is easy! Below is a series of images to help you out!
To start the signup process, simply click the “Sign In” button near the website’s navigation, circled in red above.
Then, Click on the “Not a Member? Sign Up” section on the Sign In form, circled in red above.
Finally, choose a username, enter your email and password, and click the “Register” button – you’ll receive an email with further instructions!
How do I post an event my business/organization is hosting?
You will only have access to make an event once you have either claimed a business listing or have made one yourself. To see how to make a business listing yourself click here. To see how to claim an existing business, click here.
Once your listing or claim have been approved by DeKalb County Online staff, you will be free to create an event.
From your dashboard, you will click on the events tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
Once on the events page, you will click the Add New button to create a new event.
Once on the event creation page, there will be a form to fill out all of the information about your event. After you are done filling out the information on your event, you will click the green save button in the bottom right corner to save and publish your event.
How do I add my business listing to the site?
In order to add your business listing to the site, you’ll need to have an account. If you need help with this, please see the first frequently asked question for more information.
Once you have an account, adding your business listing is a simple process.
Before you create a listing, check the current listing to make sure that you do not already have a listing made for you. If you need help with this, please see this frequently asked question for more information.
Once you are logged in, to access your dashboard, you will hover over your username in the top right corner of the webpage, then you can either click on your username or click on the dashboard option in the dropdown.
One you are in your dashboard, in the top bar, you will click on the option “ADD LISTING” to start the creation of your new listing.
On this page, you will be asked to fill out all of the pertinent information about your business. As you go through the form, there will be a guide box on the right-hand side of the page describing what each part of the form means. When you are done filling out the form, click on the large green button at the bottom of the page to save and preview your new listing.
Extra Info: When you create a listing, it will not be immediately viewable. One of our associates will have to review the listing, and they will approve it for publishing. Your listing should be viewable within 24 hours of its creation.
How do I claim my business listing that’s already on the site?
The easiest way to find your listing is to use the search bar on the home page. Search for your business, and your business should appear under the search bar. Click on your business to access the listing.
Once you are in the listing, there will be two boxes on the right-hand side of the page. In the smaller two boxes, there will be a section that says, “Own or work here? Claim Now!” Click claim now.
After clicking claim now, this form should pop up for you to fill out. Once you have finished, click the Claim Your Business Now! button, and you have now claim your listing.
Extra Info: When you claim a listing, it will not immediately show up on your account. One of our associates will have to review your claim, and they will approve it. Your claimed listing should appear in the listing section of your dashboard within 24 hours of your claim.
How do I post a classified ad?
To access the classifieds, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on classifieds in the navigation bar under DeKalb County Online’s logo
Once on the classified page, there will be two links that say “Add a Classified Listing Here.” Click either of those links to create a classified ad.
After clicking the link, you will be brought to a form to fill out the information about your classified listing. Once you are done, click the preview button at the bottom of the form to preview your classified listing.
Once you hit preview, you will be brought to a page to preview your classified listing before publishing. Click Show Contact Information to see how people will contact you. Click Edit Listing to change your listing if you find an issue. Click Publish listing to publish your listing to dekalbcountyonline.com.
