The Indian Creek Middle School in Waterman held their annual Spirit Week right before their Christmas break. They choose a cause to support and each student donated a dollar a day throughout the week.
This year the student council and staff chose Waterman’s new Muingan Park as their fundraiser focus. The photo above is of the students and staff presenting their check to the Waterman Enhancement Group.
The group raised $815.00 towards the Waterman’s Muingan Park Project! This is more than twice the amount typically raised towards one cause in the school! As any donation of $500 or more gets recognition as a major donor, the students will get a plaque with their donation on it displayed at the park.

Personally, I think we need much more of this. I taught my kids the values of volunteering from a very early age and love that they enjoy it as much as they do now!

How DARE these kids get involved with their community and be stakeholders? How DARE they be taught the importance of local service projects. Oh, the humanity. *clutching pearls*
