My name is Wanda McMurray; I am running for the village president position here in Kirkland.
I have been married to my husband Don for 50 years; we have 6 children, 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. I was raised in Kirkland, my husband and I raised our kids here as well. In the past I served 12 years as a trustee on the Franklin Township park board. I am currently coming to the end of my 2nd term (4yrs. each) as a village board trustee. I also currently serve on the Library board. I have nothing but the best interest for this village in mind.
I do not have all the answers to some of the issues this village faces (examples: Hickory Ridge subdivision moratorium, Colonial estates flood plain, etc.). What I do have is the willingness to work with the village board and the community to find solutions to these very issues. I will also do my best to have better transparency than the village had in the past. I look forward to be given the opportunity to help make the village of Kirkland grow into an even better community that we all so love.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask me. I will do my best to answer any questions to the best of my ability. I would greatly appreciate your vote on April 4th. Although the most important thing to do, is to just VOTE!
Thank you for your time and consideration.
