Know Your Numbers Personal Appointments
Knowing and understanding your numbers is vital to good health. Heart disease and other health issues can be predicted using this information. As a service to our community, we are offering the following screenings and education free of charge in the convenience of one appointment: blood test for cholesterol and blood sugar levels, blood pressure, waist measurement, body mass index (BMI), and education. Must be 20 years or older. You can attend Know Your Numbers one time per year. Blood Pressure Clinic
A KishHealth System health professional monitors your blood pressure weekly. Each participant receives blood pressure information and a tracking card. Free. No appointment necessary. Dealing with Perception and Judgment: Your Own and Others
It’s human nature to make judgments about ourselves and others. These judgments can negatively affect how you interact with those around you. Next Level Sports Performance – Kids
This program works with children ages 10-12 to develop the physical components necessary for athletic and recreational activities. Kids are invited to join us to enhance their speed, agility, power, core stability, strength, balance, flexibility and injury prevention. Next Level Sports Performance – Teens
This program works with children ages 10-12 to develop the physical components necessary for athletic and recreational activities. One-on-One Personal Conditioning/Training
This unique program offers a personalized conditioning/training program. The program emphasizes cardiovascular health, flexibility, core stability, general strength and balance, and agility and skill development based on personal goals. Adult Anger Management
Anger is a normal emotion, yet very often it can be difficult to express in a healthy way. During this six-week educational class, learn strategies that help identify sources of anger and ways to express thoughts or feelings in order to become more effective. This six-week cognitive behavioral therapy group is intended for those who suffer from anxiety symptoms. Join Mary McKinnell, licensed clinical professional counselor, and Lynette Swedberg, advanced practice nurse, to learn about anxiety and a variety of techniques to reduce these symptoms. Kids Connect: Therapeutic Activity Groups
These groups, for children ages 5-14, provide a relaxed, fun environment full of interactive, hands-on activities that help foster self-confidence and interpersonal skills. After an initial screening, children are matched to the group that compliments their personality best. Led by Karyn Erkfritz, licensed clinical psychologist, most sessions include time with parents to discover what their child has learned. Insurance is billed and most insurance plans accepted. Aquatic Exercise
This class is for individuals with back pain, joint paint including arthritis, soft tissue pain including fibromyalgia, or individuals seeking to improve cardiovascular fitness. Warm water sessions decrease pain with improved range of motion, stretching and flexibility. Class meets once a week for eight weeks. Days and times vary. Dialectical Behavior Therapy Teen Group: Emotion Management
Does your teen need to replace problem behaviors with more adaptive ways of coping with distress? Emily Dienst, licensed professional counselor, and Sarah VanMeter, licensed clinical social worker, help teens integrate behavioral strategies using validation and acceptance techniques rooted in mindfulness. Teens can regulate emotions by increasing stress tolerance, decreasing self-destructive behaviors, and recognizing and changing chaotic relationships. Understanding, Healing, and Preventing Traumatic Stress in Children
Children respond to traumatic stress in many ways. This stress response can be triggered by any frightening event the child encounters, such as: a car accident, violence, abuse, or loss. If you are concerned about interacting with children who have experienced trauma, this workshop provides the tools and understanding to respond and support them in a way that may minimize the negative impact of the event and promote healing and recovery. You will learn how children experience and react to the impact of traumatic events and how you can prevent trauma. Heartsaver AED/CPR
The American Heart Association Heartsaver AED course teaches lay rescuers when to phone 911, how to give CPR, how to use an AED (automated external defibrillator), and how to provide relief of choking.
