DeKalb, IL., August 1, 2023 – The DeKalb Farmers’ Market joins markets across the country in celebrating National Farmers Market Week from August 6-12, 2023. On Thursday, August 10th the DeKalb Famers’ Market will celebrate with free raffles, live music, craft demos and more at the corner of 2nd and Locust Street in Downtown DeKalb from 10am-2pm.
National Farmers Market Week is an annual celebration of farmers markets coordinated by the Farmers Market Coalition, a membership-based nonprofit organization that supports farmers markets nationwide through training, technical assistance, and network-building. This year, the campaign is centered around the essential role that farmers markets play in our local food systems and how market organizations are working to make change in our communities.
The DeKalb Farmers’ Market began in 1995, and currently hosts over 25 vendors selling a wide variety of products including olive oil, hot sauce, fresh produce, coffee, honey, pastries and much more.
The market accepts cash, credit/debit, and Link. Link can only be used at eligible vendors. We also Link Match! Visit the information booth to learn more about the Link Match program that doubles your value of Link, giving you $50 worth of fresh produce for only $25.
The DeKalb Farmers’ Market is coordinated by the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce, presented by Northwestern Medicine and supported by Country Financial Downtown DeKalb. For more information and a list of vendors, visit dekalb.org or follow the DeKalb Farmers’ Market on social media @dekalbfarmersmarket.
