Photo – Here are some flowers to brighten your dreary April day! These are some of the native flowering plants that will be introduced around the ponds at Parkside Preserve and Chief Blackpartidge, this spring. Once established, these plants will bring a colorful aesthetic and excellent wildlife habitat to these sites! They will also help with erosion control while making the area easier and more cost-effective to maintain. ENCAP, Inc. recently conducted prescribed burns at these sites in preparation for the planting. The burns removed brush and nonnative vegetation and added valuable nutrients to the soil.
