A Sheridan woman was fatally injured in a crash Thursday evening east of Waterman. The DeKalb County deputy says a Leland teen’s Jeep Cherokee crossed the centerline of Route 23 before 7pm. It struck the vehicle of 53-year old Denise Wilhelm of Sheridan forcing it into the west ditch before stopping. The Jeep rolled over coming to rest on Route 23.
Denise Wilhelm was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, 58-year old Richard Wilhelm and a juvenile went to Kishwaukee Hospital with injuries. The opposing driver also went there and was cited for improper lane usage.
