Have you ever wanted to meet royalty? Indian Valley Theatre has just the ticket as they present their 1st major production since 2019; ‘Dracula: The Musical?’. Come meet the Count from Transylvania along with other cast members at the Historic Sandwich Opera House, 140 E. Railroad St. in Sandwich at 7:30pm on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 22nd and 23rd and 2pm on Sunday, Oct. 24th.
‘Dracula: The Musical?’ with music and lyrics by Rick Abbot, is a delightful spoof of Bram Stoker’s 1897 Victorian horror classic that will add song, dance and plenty of laughs for the whole family.
This week IVT would like to spotlight 3 Dracula cast members: Emily Redmond Stephanie Sus and Barbara St. John.
Emily Redmond (Bubu Padoop) hails from Newark. Dracula is actually her 21st production. She has participated with IVT in many areas; performing, applying make-up and doing tech and back stage work. She has been seen on stage for several shows with IVT including ‘The Unsinkable Molly Brown’. She has been an Assistant at IVT Children’s Summer Workshops and performed in IVT’s Tween Summer Workshop Productions as well. Besides being cast in this production she is very busy working 2 jobs. She loves Cosplay and would like to pursue a degree in the Performing Arts, English Education or Costume Design, keeping all her options open.
Next up is Stephanie Sus (Mina Seward) who lives in Genoa. Stephanie has been involved with Community Theatre since Middle School. She has performed with IVT, CCT and in several High School productions. She was Assistant Stage Manager for ‘Peter Pan’ and performed in ‘Beauty and the Beast’ the following year. She plays the flute in the Genoa High School Marching and Concert Bands. She is very excited to be onstage again and that her Mom suggested she audition. As a Senior, her future goal is to go to college and major in Psychology.
Barbara St. John (Sophie Seward) rounds out this week’s cast spotlights. This is Barbara’s IVT debut. She makes her “empty nester” home in Sandwich with her husband Jonathan Hill. She auditioned for this show as she wanted to “add a new string to her bow’ because she loves to try new things. She is a Cake Decorator at Art’s Supermarket in Sandwich and is an avid movie and music buff. She was a singer for over 16 years with several rock bands; Woodsugar, Collective Feat and Barbara and the Boys. She loves to paint and some of her artwork is proudly displayed at the Sandwich Opera House.
