National Cheeseburger Day is a non official U.S holiday which is celebrated annually on September 18th. On this day, people have an excuse to enjoy one of America’s favorite sandwiches: the cheeseburger – a delicacy that features a ground beef patty with melted cheese that is served between two buns and often topped with lettuce, onions, pickles, mustard, ketchup and other such condiments.
Regardless of your meat taste, today is the time to enjoy an American food icon — a cheeseburger oozing warm cheesy deliciousness on top of a moist, juicy patty (or two or three). No matter how refined your palate might be, a good, old-fashioned greasy cheeseburger seems to satisfy many taste buds (and wash it down with a BUD Lite).

Despite what you might hear from people from around the United States, the cheeseburger was born in California at the “Rite Spot” in Pasadena, CA. This comes as no surprise with the Golden State’s heritage of Americana and car-dominated drive-in culture.
Whether you grill your own burgers today or caravan with your crew to everybody’s favorite burger joint, go hog-wild crazy eating as many toasted, drippingly-good cheeseburgers as your tummy can hold. And yes you can add a lot of other items to enhance the taste, including many people’s favorite bacon.
