Kishwaukee United Way’ Annual Day of Caring is this Thursday, June 21st. Day of Caring is an organized day of service during which volunteers from the Board of Directors of Kishwaukee United Way, and staff from Kishwaukee United Way partner agencies visit, assist, and complete projects at one of the community’s non-profit agencies. Each agency submits requests for volunteer help on a broad variety of projects ranging from reading to children, delivering meals to the elderly, repairing and painting houses, planting gardens, and refurbishing agency offices.
Day of Caring formally kicks off the community campaign efforts, providing an opportunity to help others through hands-on experience and see where United Way donations go and how agency programs are affecting people’s lives. With numerous projects requiring a good number of volunteers, they need you and your organization’s participation to make this year successful!
The Event Kick-off is at American Midwest Bank, 1985 DeKalb Ave. in Sycamore. Project locations vary throughout the day. For more information contact Dawn Littlefield or Jackie DiNatale by phone at (815) 756-7522 or e-mail at dawn@kishwaukeeunitedway.com. Visit the Kishwaukee United Way website.
