Donors from DeKalb County and all over the world can support local nonprofit organizations during Give DeKalb County to be held this Thursday, May 3, 2018. The 24-hour charitable giving day is being coordinated for the fifth consecutive year by the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership (DCNP), which is a program of the DeKalb County Community Foundation.
“We’re excited to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Give DeKalb County on May 3,” said DCNP Director, Ben Bingle. “Through the four previous giving days, over $1.2 million has been raised to support nonprofits located in or serving DeKalb County. This year we have over 80 nonprofits participating and the collaborative impact of these organizations is truly something to celebrate.”
Donations can be made online by credit or debit card from midnight to midnight on May 3. Donors may also choose to give by cash or check at the DeKalb County Community Foundation between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on May 3. The minimum donation amount is $5.
A bonus pool of over $53,600 has been raised and each donation made during Give DeKalb County is boosted by a percentage of these additional funds. The bonus pool is made possible by the generous support of Community Partners, including: Chulick Family Fund, Curran Family Endowment Fund, Dan and Kathy Schewe, DeKalb County Community Foundation, First Midwest Bank, Horizons Unlimited Castle Advised Fund, IDEAL Industries, Keicher Insurance Agency, Lynne Waldeland, Morningstar Media Group, Northwestern Medicine, Old Second National Bank, Paul Callighan, The Suter Company, and Soft Water City.
Generous local media support helps spread the word about Give DeKalb County. Media Sponsors include: B95 WDKB FM, Banner Up Signs, DeKalb Chamber of Commerce, DeKalb County Historical-Genealogical Society, DeKalb County Online, First National Bank, Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce, Lehan Drugs, LePrint Express, Morningstar Media Group, OC Creative, Orange Peel Gazette, Provident Direct, Sandwich Area Chamber of Commerce, Shaw Media, and Sycamore Chamber of Commerce.
