Stop by the Sycamore History Museum this Thursday, June 20th for the first of three summer Family Fun Days. This event is a drop in between 11-2 for families to discover, explore, and experience Sycamore history. In June, the theme is “Farm Chores.” Visitors, working with our Junior Docents will be participating in some traditional farm chores.
Enjoy fun activities like hand washing clothes and hanging them on a clothes line, grinding corn, making a craft, going on a scavenger hunt, and enjoying tours of the museum’s grounds. During their June Brown Bag Lunch, Betty Mullins mentioned that many of her friends that lived on farms played softball. So, they will start the program with farm chores, and then play some softball with the NIU softball players! They will be at the museum between 12:30 – 2:00. Come out and play catch!
The cost is only $5 per family to attend anytime between 11am and 2pm Thursday. Additional Family Fun Days are scheduled for July 18th and August 15th, 2013. The Sycamore History Museum is located at 1730 N. Main Street, in Sycamore. Visit their website to learn more.
