If Facebook fans equals votes Bill Brady will win the race for Governor in a landslide — as of today. Lisa Madigan will win the Attorney General race by an even bigger margin. Randy Hultgren will unseat Bill Foster for the 14th District House seat by an almost 2-1 margin. The race (for Facebook fans) is simply to close to call between Mark Kirk and Alexi Giannoulias.
Finding Facebook Fan Pages for local races takes a lot of time. Of the contested races I found only the 16th Judicial race to have both candidates represented. Local candidate with a Facebook Fan Page? Post a link to it as a comment.

I'm not sure it's necessarily the case. I think it's a matter of who is comfortable and familiar with social media and who isn't. Tom Doherty so much as admitted that he isn't as comfortable with technology and I know his wife Jill isn't either, so I wouldn't expect him to have a interactive Facebook page.
For a lot of these candidates, it's a popularity contest. Merely look at many of the fans on these pages and you know what I mean. Couple that with the anti-incumbent sentiment and it looks to be an interesting race.

Randy did not push the legislation to abolish the Automated Traffic Law (Redlight Camera) as a State Legislator when I told him to so I don't trust him in a Federal office.
