On November 10th , 2017, at approximately 7:20 p.m., the DeKalb Police Department was notified by Kishwaukee Community Hospital staff, that a two year old child had sustained a severe brain injury under suspicious circumstances and that the child had been transferred to Lurie Hospital in Chicago.
The DeKalb Police immediately initiated an investigation, in cooperation with the DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s Office, into the cause of the injury to the two year old child.
The subsequent investigation revealed that Alexandra Hoyle, the girlfriend of the child’s biological father, had slammed the child’s head onto the hardwood floor at a residence in the 800 block of Ridge Drive in DeKalb, causing the severe injuries to the child.
On November 11th , 2017, Alexandra Hoyle was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Battery to a Child, bond was set at $500,000 dollars, and she was incarcerated at the DeKalb County Jail. At her bond hearing, the offender’s bond was reduced to $100,000 dollars, she later posted bond and was released from the DeKalb County Jail on November 14th .
On November 15th , 2017, the two year old victim succumbed to his injuries and an arrest warrant was issued for Alexandra Hoyle for two counts of First Degree Murder. Hoyle’s bond was set at $5,000,000 dollars, Detectives located the offender on Cambridge Court in DeKalb, where she was arrested. At present the offender remains in custody at the DeKalb County Jail.
DeKalb Police Chief Gene Lowery stated, “The tragic loss of a two year old child at the hands of this offender is unthinkable. On behalf of the DeKalb Police Department we offer our sincere condolences, and our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and those that survive him.”
ARRESTED:
Alexandra Hoyle, 21 years of age, from DeKalb, was charged with Aggravated Battery to a Child and two counts of First Degree Murder.

First degree murder you shouldn’t have a bond at all! And to a child, I don’t know what’s wrong with dekalb county court house but this is disgusting, they go after people for trespassing and let people with murder charges out on bond? ððð

not that hard to understand..she was arrested for endangerment when BABY WAS ADMMITTED to hospital, bonded out… YES, SHOULD HAVE NEVER ALLOWED A BOND.. baby in coma couple days, parents made the hardest decision ever to make and take baby off life support, baby passes, then SHE IS ARRESTED AGAIN FOR 2 COUNTS OF FIRST DEGREE MURDER..SHE WILL NOT GET OUT….the ppl in prison prob wont let her live very long..
