Chris Frieders is one of the Crop Reporters who offers weekly weather and crop observations.
DeKalb County Farm Bureau’s Crop Reporting Service will offer weekly weather and crop reports on its website beginning in April.
Those farmers and agribusiness people who have participated in the past are hoping that others will join them to expand the outreach to all parts of the county.
Crop Reporters typically e-mail or phone Dave Yaeger with rainfall and other crop information. Yaeger, coordinator of the Crop Reporting Service, collects information from Crop Reporters and posts it to the Farm Bureau website on a weekly basis.
Reporting begins in mid-April and continues through October.
