Don Hawkins died from complications due to COVID on January 15, 2022. He will be dearly missed.
In June 2004, Hawkins purchased from local businessman Jeff Richardson Competitive Edge, a graphics design and apparel decorator that did screen printing and embroidery. As the owner, the company produced good work and supported local sports teams and businesses. He helped sponsor DeKalb County Online.
Hawkins attended Southern Illinois University for his bachelor’s of science and Northern Illinois University for his master’s of science. He leaves behind Lori Hawkins, his wife.
The business and the space Competitive Edge occupies will be up for sale. Details of the funeral are pending.
