One of the biggest winter storms in Northern Illinois history this weekend is causing problems on the road, in the air and on the rails, as most of Chicagoland saw more than a foot of snow by Sunday night.
Sitting at number 7 in the top 10 biggest snowstorms in Chicago history, the blizzard has dropped between 16-18 inches in our area and caused all local schools, including at NIU and Kishwaukee College, to cancel classes on Monday.
Although Monday is expected to be at least a partly sunny day, it will also be very cold, with a high of only 10 degrees expected. Residents are reminded to bundle up and take the snow removal in parts, as this much snow can be extremely strenuous to move.
