The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of DeKalb is hosting a winter farmers’ market and craft fair at their church located at 158 North Fourth Street on Saturday December 11th from 10am to 3pm.
This market will be a great for anyone who misses the great summer farmers’ markets we have in DeKalb or Sycamore. It will also be an opportunity to support local farmers and artisans while buying healthy foods and gift craft items.
The market will include grass fed beef and free range chickens & eggs from the Hasselmann Farm just over the northern DeKalb county border. Also being offered is fresh herbs and fresh vegetables from the Erehwon Farm in Elburn. There will be several crafters including home spun yarn from DeKalb.
Also available will be Tomato Mountain organic pasta sauce and salsa made from homegrown tomatoes. The market will also offer fresh baked goods as well. Among the great craft choices too numerous to mention are handmade jewelry, knitted items, birdhouses, sun-catchers, goat soap, and many other handmade items. In addition to the great shopping opportunities there will also be live music all day and hot food available creating a festive and fun atmosphere.
“We want this to be an enjoyable community event that will help support our local farmers and artists.” said Dan Kenney one of the market organizers. If you would like more information call Dan Kenney 815-793-0950.
