Video Added! The public came out in full force today and helped welcome home a local hero. Christopher Piatt served four years as a US Marine and was injured by an IED blast while deployed in Afghanistan. There was a motorcycle escort that traveled from Peace Rd. at Rte. 38 west to 1st St., north to Sycamore Rd., east on Sycamore Rd. and Rte. 23 to Elm St., continued east on Elm St. to California St., north to State St. (Rte. 64), east to Airport Rd., south to Sycamore Park entrance and west to the Good Tymes Shelter.
The public stood along the route with American Flags especially at the southeast corner of 1st St. and Lincoln Highway and also the DeKalb County Courthouse in Sycamore. There was a rally at the Sycamore Park Good Tymes Shelter at the end of the route.
