This is a day DeKalb and NIU will never forget. Five years ago a deranged shooter entered Cole Hall and senselessly killed five students before ending his own life. The communiversity has moved forward but today we reflect and remember the names and faces of those lost. Our prayers and thoughts are with their families and friends.

Those manufacturers only exist because government is by far their biggest customer. As long as governments need to have weapons the right to bear arms is likewise needed. As long as campaign contributions are allowed we can’t control lobbyists of any kind. And I hear there are attorneys who profit from the suffering of innocents, too.
Thanks for reminding us of the 22 injured victims. One was a child of one of Gracie’s high school friends. We hope all have recovered and are doing well.

Many of our local politicians have either forgotten or ignored the Cole Hall massacre. Weren’t there also 22 injured victims. Until we get control over the gun lobby you can bet there will be many more senseless deaths. The manufacturers of these dangerous weapons are worse than drug dealers. They profit from the suffering of innocents.
