This Saturday, July 17th, is the Waterman Lions Club Summer Fest and Antique Tractor Show at Lions Park in Waterman. The ‘Parade of Power’, with special guest announcer farm broadcaster Max Armstrong, will be featured at 11:30am Saturday. Waterman Lion Park is located at 420 S. Birch St. The Parade of Power is of a parade of antique tractors driven by their owners. This is the 10th year of the annual one-day event that brings together owners of antique tractors, crafters and flea market concessionaires along with civic organizations with booths promoting their activities.
Admission is free to this fun, small town event. Summer Fest activities start at 7am with a french toast breakfast prepared by DeKalb Noon Lions Club. There will be a farm animal petting zoo; kids’ activities; clown, balloons, face painting and train rides; and Ident-A-Kid. The Kids’ Pedal Tractor Pull contest will begin at 1:30 p.m.
The Waterman Lions Club will hold a food stand from 10 am-4 pm. Then they switch over to their pork chop barbecue supper, which will be served from 4-7 pm. The club will draw the names of winners in its draw down raffle at 7 pm. Jimmy and the Boys band will play between 3:30pm and 5pm and the Snap Shot band will be featured from 8-11pm. The Waterman Business Association will host a beer and wine garden from 4-11pm. At 9pm, there will be a fireworks show. Plan on going to Waterman this Saturday for some great small town FUN!
