According to NIU News Today Press Release:
The NIU Department of Public Safety is seeking information regarding an incident that occurred approximately 1 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, near Lot W and the Eco Park property on the west side of the NIU campus.
A female NIU student was walking alone in this area and was accosted by a male, described as possibly of hispanic or Indian origin, approximately 5’8″ tall, medium build with a spiked, mohawk haircut wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
The victim was able to fight back and struck him in the face or the neck, possibly leaving a mark. The suspect fled east toward Annie Glidden Road.

Hmmm… after what just happened to Toni Keller, I would think that any person, male or female, would 1) have the sense to NOT travel alone in out-of-the-way areas, and 2) not do it at 1 a.m.!!!
