Chicago has been voted the Best Big City in the U.S. by Condé Nast Traveler readers for the fourth year in a row. This prestigious recognition was voted on by more than 715,000 travel lovers from around the country, who recognize that Chicago is truly a city unlike any other.
It’s no wonder Chicago is topping this list again. A world-class destination known for its impressive architecture, first-rate museums, brilliant chefs, and massive brewing scene, it’ll take several repeat visits to get through your list of must-dos. Most people start with the downtown—from the Magnificent Mile, ritzy Gold Coast, and funky Old Town, not to mention the business-oriented Loop—but there are 77 neighborhoods to explore, where you’ll find cutting-edge restaurants, chilled-out corner bars, and, no matter where you go, some of the most pleasant people you’ll find anywhere.
NOTE: These rankings are from 2019 reports and the pre-COVID-19 pandemic. These cities are still exciting and when this issue is over should return to their greatness.
List Include: #1 Chicago, IL; #2 Washington DC; #3 Boston, MA; #4 New Orleans, LA; #5 San Antonio, TX; #6 NYC, NY; #7 San Diego, CA; #8 Nashville, TN; #9 Tucson, AZ; #10 St. Petersburg, FL
