Thesis and Dissertation Office
The Thesis and Dissertation Office of the NIU Graduate School has moved to Adams Hall 104. Thesis Office staff offer assistance to graduate students at all stages of the thesis and dissertation process during walk-in hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
The new ground-floor suite includes space in Adams Hall 103 for expanded workshop offerings this fall. The workshops cover what thesis and dissertation writers need to know about the Graduate School’s requirements and procedures.
“We’ve designed the workshops to target specific disciplines so we can address the particular needs of writers in every type of study,” said Carolyn Law, thesis and dissertation adviser.
All workshops are free. Details, times and registration information are available online. Seating is limited.
Students are encouraged to stay current on Thesis and Dissertation Office events and services through the Project Thesis NIU blog. Project Thesis NIU publishes twice per month.
“We’ve found that social media, like our blog and our Facebook group (NIU Theses and Dissertations), really helps to keep students informed and connected while working on a long-term research project,” Law said. “Workshops and social media are tools we’re using to make the process a little bit easier for students.”
