According to a Sycamore Police Department news release Lidia J. Juarez, 37, of DeKalb was found shot to death inside her car about 2:05pm in the parking lot at the Illinois Department of Human Services building located at 1629 Afton Road in the Sycamore Prairie business park.
After police investigation Antonio Juarez, 44, of DeKalb, was identified as the only suspect in the slaying. Investigators learned Antonio was Lidia’s estranged husband. He was the subject of an active order of protection was wanted on a warrants for violation of that order of protection issued March 10 and failure to appear for domestic battery issued on March 24.
Local police shared information they obtained about Antonio’s whereabouts with Illinois State Police, who spotted his black 2005 Chrysler 300 near the 8000 block of Ogden in Lyons a little before 6:00pm.
According to a news release from Illinois State Police, multiple agencies assisted in surveillance of the vehicle. Near the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Joliet Road in suburban Lyons, Juarez began firing at the responding officers. [video]
Antonio Juarez was killed when police returned a volley of fire.

Oh no. They were neighbors of ours. I knew they separated a few years ago. I think she used the kids as a pawn. He wanted to see his kids more often and she wouldn’t let him. I don’t know why.
