There will be a Surprise Welcome Home for Specialist Michael J. Hutsler of the United States Army this Sunday in Sycamore.
He is an Army soldier now serving at Fort Hood, Texas following a twelve month tour of duty in Iraq. He is planning to be discharged from the Army in December of 2012 and plans to work in the Diesel Mechanic field after his discharge.
Michael graduated from Sycamore High School in 2009 and a month after turning 18 he joined the Army. He attended basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky and was then assigned to Fort Hood, Texas where he trained as a Cavalry Scout becoming a member of the 3rd ACR Brave Rifles.
He will arrive in Sycamore on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at approximately 10:45am. There will be a surprise reception for him at the Sycamore Veterans Home, 121 South California Street. The public is invited to welcome him home at this surprise reception.
He will have a motorcycle escort to DeKalb County by the Warrior’s Watch Riders. Local motorcyclists are invited to meet at the old DeKalb Clinic, 165 East Plank Road, Sycamore, Illinois no later than 10:30am on Sunday, 10-02-2011 to join in with the motorcycle escort. The local route of travel will be westbound Plank Road to Peace Road, westbound Peace Road to Route 64 and eastbound Route 64 to the Sycamore Veterans Home.
