The 123rd Sandwich Fair will be held this Wednesday thru Sunday, September 8-12 at the Sandwich Fairgrounds in Sandwich. Always held Wednesday-Sunday the week of Labor Day, gates for DeKalb County’s fair open at 8am and buildings open at 9am each day. General admission is $8 and $4 for children 6-12. Season tickets are available.
This DeKalb County Fair offers all the charm of an old time country fair. Great food vendors, livestock judging, farm zoo, antique farm machinery, arts and crafts, horseshoe pitching contest, exhibits and a carnival are just some of the attractions to expect. Ag Land Entertainers bring country music to the fair each day, starting on Wednesday with Ashley Lewis and Ashton Gap, followed by a Fiddle Contest for all ages.
Wednesday is Children Free Day, where kids 12 and under get in free and ride wristbands are $22 from 5pm-close. The Grandstand Events open on Wednesday with the FMX National Championship Series on Wednesday. Don’t miss the highflying excitement of motorcycle stunts with the only national championship title that is decided by performing aerial stunts while launching motorcycles 70’+ feet through the air! Thursday is Senior Citizen Bargain Day; Seniors entry is $4 until 5pm. Thursday is also Special Wristband day; all day unlimited rides for $22. Truck Pulls fill the Grandstand on Thursday and Saturday evenings at 6:30.
Friday is Bargain Day and Armed Forces Day. Everyone admitted for $4 until 5pm. People currently serving in the Military with Military identification admitted FREE until 5pm. Ride Wristbands 12:00 noon to 5pm are $22.00. Country singers Jake Owen & Jason Michael Carroll perform at the Grandstand on Friday evening. Sunday at 1pm are Demolition Derbies.
