Safe Passage, DeKalb County’s domestic violence and sexual assault crisis center, will host a Valentine’s Day themed fundraiser on February 15, 2019.
The event, LOVE: Love Over Violence Event, will be held at Blumen Gardens in Sycamore from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. and will include an evening of hearty appetizers, drinks, dancing, and a date-themed basket raffle. Additionally, Glidden Florist of DeKalb has donated their time and resources to provide a bouquet-building station for the guests.
“We talk about unhealthy relationships almost every day at our agency. I think it’s important for us to remember to pause and celebrate the great ones too. This event will give us that opportunity,” says Safe Passage’s Marketing and Communication Specialist, Kendal Baker.
Tickets are $50 per person and include a signature drink. Tickets are available for purchase online at dekalbcountytickets.com, by phone at (815) 758-1225, or at the Egyptian Theatre Box Office (135 N 2nd Street, DeKalb). The box office is open Tuesday – Thursday, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Safe Passage is DeKalb County’s only domestic violence and rape crisis center. In addition to safe housing, the organization offers crisis intervention and medical advocacy for victims, counseling, legal advocacy, children’s services, prevention programming, and a partner abuse intervention program. The organization serves men, women, and children of all ages. All services at Safe Passage are free and confidential.
