April 10, 2017 – SRYC Charities is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization established by the members of the Starved Rock Yacht Club in Ottawa, IL. Our mission is to provide community outreach, education, and recreation throughout the Illinois River Valley. Each year, SRYC Charities hosts the Ron Robb Special People Cruise. This event provides recreational and educational opportunities to individuals with special needs.
The Ron Robb Memorial Special People Cruise 2017 will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the Starved Rock Yacht Club. The Starved Rock Yacht Club is located in Ottawa along the Illinois River on Dee Bennett Rd. at 1200 N. 27th Road. Individuals of all ages are encouraged to attend regardless of their level of need as we can safely accommodate wheelchairs and walkers on the boats.
The Special People Cruise features a boat cruise along the Illinois River, crafts, games, live music, prizes and complimentary lunch for all participants. In recent years, the event has served more than 500 individuals with special needs and their caretakers from throughout Illinois.
