I hope at the next election, people grow up and stop stealing signs. They do that in Chicago:

When I voted this morning at Hopkins Park, I was surprised to see a buddy there who I thought lived on Taylor Street, over by South Seventh. I asked if he moved but no, he had not. I then asked why do residents of southern part of the city, including Southmore Estates, have to come all the way to Hopkins Park to vote when there is a polling place at Golden Years? He said he thought it was to discourage people from that area from voting.
I investigated the area where Mr Fischer’s campaign signs were stolen today. The area where the signs are missing is on Annie Glidden Rd, just South of Schnucks’ on the east side of the road. I replaced a couple of the signs early this afternoon. If anyone observed who stole the signs (sometime late Monday night/early Tuesday morning) Please contact me. One Interesting side note. A Naylor sign mysteriously popped up on the West side of the road that wasn’t there before. It’s also interesting to note that only the Fischer signs were removed and a sign from a school board candidate remained. I’m not going to point fingers here, but I do have to be suspicious of the incumbent and/or his supporters
Wife and I just got back from the Malta fire station (polling place). Saw two other voters. We were in and out quickly. Two precincts vote at this building.I think we were #83,84 in MA-01. NO sign of Chumbolones! Good luck to all and happy voting!
at 9:30 in DK35 (2nd ward) my wife and I were voters 11 & 12. There was nobodey there!!!!
Mark the machine tallies the votes for each precinct separately I believe and we are in different precincts. Unless of course you voted in my precinct for Ron’s opponent 🙂
Mac, while in off year elections turnouts tend to be low, I’m betting that DeKalb will be on the high side of local turnouts, albeit still with too few voters.
And, don’t forget to post comparing your on-line poll results with the actual results.
Okay, I’ll ask, what is a chumbolone?
Just got word that 7-8 of 5th ward candidate Rob Fischer’s signs are missing as of this morning.
I was voter 73 on the box I put my ballot with all the correct answers on in. Gracie would have been 74 because it took her longer to fill out her ballot than I took. We avoided contact with the Chumbolones. Sharon Holmes was working as an election judge. She looked much more relaxed than she usually looks on election day. She told me to get them more voters so I’m going to try. 🙂
Herb – I was voter #145 at the Sports and Rec Centre at 12:40pm
Gee missed mark by about an hour 🙂
No one in line, instant voting. Then stopped to chat with one of the poll watchers for 15 minutes or so and 3 or 4 others voted. My ballot was I think about 103 or so such number (Mark is in the same polling place but different precinct table)
Heading there right now (Rec Centre on S 4th st)…I’ll report back after 12;30pm
at the park district they were lined up around the building i had to wait 2 hours… no no wait that was a dream…
there were a few folks there and i got through in about 10 minutes
Yep, at 7:50 am. It was rather dead at the church but I cast my ballot unmolested.

@ Herb, I had to look it up myself. You learn something new every day 🙂
