With the November 6, 2018 Midterm Elections approaching, there are plenty of opportunities to meet the candidates at public events or support your candidate of choice at a fundraiser.
Here is a rundown of upcoming DeKalb County political events (please send information about others to editor@dekalbcountyonline.com so they can be added):

Meet and Greet the Candidates Picnic – Garden of Eden Park, Saturday, September 15 @ 12:00 p.m., Garden of Eden Park, 1343 Adam’s Way, DeKalb, IL
The Democratic Party wants you to vote so we are bringing the candidates to you. We are inviting local, state, and the federal Representative candidates to come speak with and listen to you.
We will have food from Betty Jean’s Soul Food Diner & Catering. We will have a bouncy house and other activities for children. We are inviting all the people who are running for government offices this November. We are hoping to have music between candidates talking.

Most of the events listed are for Democrats. We are certainly not trying to be partisan. I know that the Republicans were at Corn Fest and the Sandwich Fair and Jeff Keicher had some events that we promoted, but I’m just not seeing anything coming up.
Please send events for Republican candidates, too, when you find out about them! We want people to be informed about everyone running for office.

DeKalb County Online will be hosting a “Meet the Candidates” forum on September 27 at the Red Roof Inn in DeKalb, Illinois. Meet the Candidates in a social sett at 6:30 PM and the at 7:00 PM candidates will have a chance to answer general question from local people. This events is sponsored by DeKalb County Online and hosted by Michael Embrey.
