Lincolnshire Place was proud to support the Walk to End Alzheimer’s walk that took place on September 23, 2012. The Lincolnshire Place team raised $6400 and there is still more coming in as of this writing.
During the months of August and September team members did fundraising events to help raise money by doing bake sales, selling luminara lanterns and hosting 50/50 raffles at PJ’s Courthouse and the Sycamore Speedway. Team members stood on the corners in Sycamore and did a can collection. They also served food and held a silent auction at Culver’s. The Lincolnshire Place team, lead by Jesse Stadie and Jack Kamenske is excited to be planning for next year’s walk already.
It is estimated that as many as 5.4 million Americans may have Alzheimer’s disease. As our population ages, the disease impacts a greater percentage of Americans. The number of people age 65 and older will more than double between 2010 and 2050 to 88.5 million or 20 percent of the population; making finding a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease more and more important.
