Christine Kyler has joined the Kishwaukee College Foundation as the Development Coordinator. She assumed her new position on March 1.
Kyler comes to Kishwaukee after serving in the local community in a variety of roles, both professionally and as a volunteer. She came to Kishwaukee from the Law Offices of Klein, Stoddard, Buck and Lewis where she had been a Legal Assistant. She had previously worked as a Legal Assistant for attorney Tom Dougherty, been a realtor, and served as a youth program coordinator with the Rockford Diocese.
In addition, she has extensive volunteer experience that has impacted people in the communities, including involvement with such diverse organization as Little Brothers/Friends of the Elderly and the original Hope Haven Homeless Shelter (PADS) in DeKalb, Opportunity House and Feed My Starving Children.
“I have always been drawn to positions that involve pulling resources together and networking,” she stated. “I also firmly believe in paying it forward – it is something instilled in me by my family. Kishwaukee College has been so important to me, my family and my surrounding community. I’m delighted to be a part of the team!”
She is excited to bring her diverse and unique skillset to Kishwaukee College. “Education is a key to making life better,” she explained. “The KC Foundation makes that possible for students at the College. I am excited to assist the Foundation with positive energy moving forward.”
She added, “I have a passion for Kish and its role in our community. I’m enthusiastic and very fortunate to be working for Dr. Borowicz (President of Kishwaukee College), and Bill Nicklas, (Executive Director of the Foundation), and the Foundation Board. I bring a quote that was recently shared with me by a very important mentor: “Good, Better, Best. Never let it rest, until your Good is Better and your Better is Best.” I am here to make the Foundation shine brighter and keep going and growing and to make the best impact on our community.”
