The Kishwaukee College Continuing Education department is offering a variety of classes during the late winter for community members. Classes meet at sites throughout the local communities and emphasize lifelong learning for personal enrichment.
Classes that begin in the months of January and February include:
Cooking – Great Soups and Sauces meets on Wednesdays from January 24 through February 28 at the HyVee Club Room. Students will learn how to make soups and sauces that will transform a basic entree into something special, including roasting, poaching, simmering and pureeing. The instructor is Chef Rudy Galindo. The cost for this class is $150.
Beekeeping Basics meets on Saturday, February 3 from 9:00a.m. – 5:00p.m. in Room C1203 at Kishwaukee College. Students will learn the basics of handling bees and harvesting hive products, including honeybee biology, hive basics, installing bees, and honeybee management. The cost for this class is $59.
Fitness – Self-Defense meets on Mondays and Wednesdays, February 5 through March 28, from 5:45 – 7:45p.m. at the Sycamore Public Library. Students will learn bow in class, stance work, punches, kicks, blocks, conditioning, foam work, two men exercise and bow out. The cost for this class $150.
