Kishwaukee College is holding a Veterans’ Day Ceremony on Thursday, November 10 at 11:00a.m. in Room A1222 on campus. The event is free and open to the public. Community members who attend should park in Lot A (South Lot) and enter through doors #16 or #17.
The ceremony will include opening remarks by Dr. Laurie Borowicz, President of Kishwaukee College followed by a Color Guard Presentation of the Flag. Attendees will recite the Pledge of Allegiance and Kishwaukee College faculty member Leslie Ciaccio will sing the National Anthem. There will be a presentation by Missy Minardi titled Veterans’ Day 2016: The Price of Freedom. Minardi is an art faculty member at Rock Valley Community College who has created artwork based on her family’s military experiences. She is interested in the effects of the military’s impact not only on the veteran but on their family members.
The ceremony will include military service recognition of attendees and an opportunity for attendees to honor and recognize veterans by posting a personalized star on a display. The Veterans’ Day Ceremony at Kishwaukee College is sponsored by the College’s Veterans Advocacy Committee.
