Kishwaukee College Paramedic graduates participated in a recognition ceremony on Thursday, August 4 in Jenkins Auditorium in the Kishwaukee College Conference Center.
Students in the Paramedic Program must serve with the ambulance crews of area Fire Departments as part of their program requirement. The following students are the 2016 Paramedic graduating class: Joel Aguirre, from North Aurora, served with Ridge FD; James Colford, from Somonauk, served with Somonauk FD; Evan Froehlich, from DeKalb, served with Malta FD; Eric Geiger, from Clare, served with Maple Park Fire Protection Department and Ridge FD; Kevin Greene, from Oregon, served with ATS Ambulance Service and Oregon FD; Cody Haefffner, from Sycamore, served with Ridge FD; Anthony Lemke, from Sandwich, served with Sandwich FD; Tyler MacDonald, from Kirkland, served with Monroe Township Fire Protection District; Alyssa McLaughlin, from Genoa, served with Sycamore FD; Dylan Muir, from Maple Park, served with Maple Park Fire Protection District; Michael Tomsovic, from DeKalb, served with Sycamore FD; and Jacob Turner, from Sycamore, served with Sycamore FD.
The ceremony included welcoming remarks by Dr. Laurie Borowicz, President of Kishwaukee College, and Bette Chilton, Dean of Health and Education, as well as Steve Ernest, EMS Program Coordinator, and Deb Baert and Kristi Pruski, EMS instructors from KishHealth. The students presented Ernest and Baert with plaques in appreciation for their dedication as instructors. After the ceremony, graduates, family and friends then enjoyed light refreshments in the Kishwaukee College Conference Center Dining Room.
