Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich has been found guilty of one felony count against him and faces up to 5 years in prison. On the other 23 charges the jury is hung. The prosecution has until Aug. 26 to decide whether to retry Blagojevich and his brother. But prosecutors said they didn’t need that long to decide. “It is absolutely our intent to retry this,” said Assistant U.S. Atty. Reid Schar.
Sentence him on the guilty count, send him to jail and move on? What’s your take?

Personally I don't want to see our fine state dragged through the mud again, only to have it revived as a daily topic in the nightly comedy monologues.
What the jury told us (without really telling us) was that there was no quid pro quo. I'm not convinced that another trial will establish that there was a quid pro quo, even if the prosecutors do streamline and/or consolidate the charges, or bring in the big-name witnesses.
I would be satisfied if he got a five-year sentence for lying to the FBI.
