The Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is excited to announce the appointment of Krissy Johnson as the new Executive Director of the Genoa Chamber.
Krissy has worked for the chamber for nearly 5 years as both the administrative assistant and Associate Director. She has been instrumental in the growth and development of the chamber.
Krissy and her family have lived in Genoa since 2012. Johnson graduated from Judson College in Elgin with a double major in Human Resource Management and Business Management. She has worked for CUSD #424 as a substitute teacher and has served on the Genoa Economic Development Commission. Krissy is married to Chris Johnson and has 2 children, Jack Johnson, a junior at Genoa-Kingston High School and Molly Johnson, a freshman at GenoaKingston High School.
“I am excited to begin this new chapter. Working closely with the businesses and community members through the years has made a great impact in my life,” said Johnson. “I know that with the support of our chamber board, ambassadors and volunteers we will continue to do great things in the community. I have been left big shoes to fill, but the groundwork has been provided for me to succeed.” Johnson will begin her new position with the chamber later this fall.
Krissy Johnson will be replacing Cortney Strohacker who became the new Executive Director of the DeKalb County Convention and Vistors Bureau.
