The DeKalb Police Department will host a free Severe Weather Spotter course for the public on Tuesday, February 21 at 7 PM at the Police Department. This course is put on by the National Weather Service and will last about two hours.
SKYWARN® is a volunteer program with between 350,000 and 400,000 trained severe weather spotters. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the National Weather Service.
Since space is limited, they recommend you RSVP with the names of those attending to Cmdr. Jason Leverton by e-mail to jleverton@cityofdekalb.com. Walk-ins will be welcome, but those who RSVP will be guaranteed a seat. Last year’s class was a full house!
