There will be a Spooky Sports Halloween Party from 4:30-8pm tonight, Friday, Oct. 29 at the NIU Convocation Center on Lincoln Highway in DeKalb. Kishwaukee Family YMCA, NIU Huskie Athletics, Kishwaukee Community Hospital and B95-WDKB FM are hosting the party.
Coaches and players from NIU men’s and women’s basketball teams will play active games with party-goers and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters on the concourse. Children will have the chance to play dozens of games, walk through a haunted house and play a version of “Fear Factor.” They can participate in arts and crafts, see a magician and jump in a bounce house. It’s time to Trick or Treat with the merchants in downtown DeKalb this Saturday, October 30th during the Downtown DeKalb Spooktacular. Candy and activities are provided for this annual event. For more information please visit: www.renewdekalb.com for times and more details.
Bring the kids to downtown Sandwich tomorrow from noon to 5pm for business trick or treating hosted by the Sandwich Chamber of Commerce. Over 20 businesses will be participating. Start at the chamber office next to the Opera House and get your map and treat bag.
The Genoa Halloween Party is also Saturday, Oct. 30th, from 2-4pm at Kiernan Park in Genoa. Enjoy this free family event featuring games, rides, food and much more. A costume contest will be held and awards will be given. Age groups for contest are: under 24 months, ages 2-4, ages 5 -7, ages 8-10 and age 11 and up. Concessions will be available for purchase.
