Gracie, so glad you did!
I'm not surprised at all that the response was prompt and came from the top. Once, I had a complaint of a privacy violation while voting. When I got home I was still upset so I called the number in the phone book and was surprised and impressed when Sharon Holmes herself answered. Since then, I've participated as a poll watcher and an election judge as well as a voter. IMO there's no better model of professionalism than Sharon Holmes in election mode.
I hope our new DeKalb Co. Clerk and Recorder will respond as quickly as Sharon Holmes has. Thank you Ms. Holmes for the quick response.
Grace – you are correct in that the results are to be posted on the door or window so that anyone can see them after the judges have left. I thank you for bringing this matter to my attention and will be sure to bring this up and stress the importance of this law at the schools we conduct later this year. Were you able to find the relusts you were looking for on the DeKalb County web site?? Sharon Holmes
Done Lynn. Below is a copy of the email I sent:
Hello Sharon,
Last night after the polls closed, myself and an employee made the rounds of polling places to put up some early results. At Hillcrest Covenant Church on N. First St. they did not post election results on an outside door. I caught the judges leaving the building and they said they were not going to post it. If we wanted to hurry up and go downstairs before the janitor left in 5 minutes, we could do so and get the results from the janitor. We did do so, however, I believe that not posting the results on an outside door was a violation of the election rules. Please check on that and if I am correct, at least let them know for the next election that the results need to be posted on an outside door. I would appreciate you looking into this and letting me know what was done.Thank you in advance for your help,
Gracie~

Gracie: please phone the County Clerk's office and report the Hillcrest Covenant election officials (if you haven't already).
It looks like a loud and resounding NO way on the pool referendum.
It looks like people voted their pocketbooks. Maybe in two years the economy in Illinois will be better?
chad and gracie rock!!!
They are ahead of the county on precincts (and ahead of me, too)

Gracie reports that at the Hillcrest Covenant Church officials told her that they were not posting results on the window. If media wanted to know the results they had to find the janitor before he left.
Gracie and Chad are out at the poll stations getting results. I'm warm on the inside watching results from the County's website as well as Kane, Dupage, Winnebago and Ogle Counties

When Gracie and I voted around noon today at the Methodist church on N Fourth Street election volunteers told us that voting was real slow. That seems to be the pattern from reports we've gotten throughout the day.

Mac, you sure it didn't have a little to do with the pizza from Pizza Villa and/or the little bit of excitement to see that more voters turned out? I believe the number to be just over 24% voter turnout with Republican ballots over Democratic ballot by double. Old and cranky works also buddy.
