Opening this weekend and for 2 weekends! Indian Valley Theatre presents, “Don’t Hug Me – County Fair”! Performances will be held at the Historic Sandwich Opera House, 140 E Railroad St. in Sandwich, IL March 1st through March 3rd and March 8th through March 10th. This is the hilarious sequel to IVT’s first performance in the “Don’t Hug Me” series in 2017.
Cast Member Spotlight
This week we would like to spotlight cast member Kaitlyn Gradert who portrays the pretty, young, Bunyan waitress, Bernice Lundstrom, who dreams of being discovered and having her face carved in butter at the Minnesota State Fair. Kaitlyn is extremely excited and honored to be a part of the “Don’t Hug Me” family. Kaitlyn lives in Sandwich with her husband Russell, her golden retriever – Luna, and her cat – General. She is an active member of the Indian Valley Theatre Board of Directors. Kaitlyn recently graced the IVT stage as a cast member of “Fools” in the role of Slovich. She is also a talented playwright, having created and directed Melodramas at the Sandwich Fair for the past five years. Kaitlyn is a graduate student at Aurora University where she is pursuing a master’s degree in Business Administration. Away from the stage, Kaitlyn enjoys reading, singing karaoke and spending time with her family and friends.
Kaitlyn and Bernice love animals of all sizes. Bernice can dress a deer and still has the goldfish her dad won for her at the Bunyan County Fair in 2001! Kaitlyn (Bernice) is back in town and is spending lots of time at The Bunyan (as usual). Bernice has been down in the big city singing her way to Broadway (fingers crossed anyway). Recently she appeared at the Grain Belt Lounge where she has been the headlining singer for several months. Bernice is excited to announce that she has returned to Bunyan Bay to compete in the Miss Walleye Queen Competition. She will be a formidable contestant.
Bernice is also quite the patriot. You can find out just how patriotic (and hypnotic!) she is and meet all the other fun folks that live in Bunyan Bay at IVT’s “Don’t Hug Me – Country Fair.”
Performances are Fri., March 1st and March 8th at 7:30 p.m., Sat., March 2nd and March 9th at 7:30 p.m. and Sun., March 3rd and March 10th at 2:00 p.m. Advance tickets are $18 and can be purchased online @ www.indianvalleytheatre.com. Tickets will be $20 at the door at the Sandwich Opera House Box Office until 30 minutes before Showtime, if seats are still available.
