Camelot Care Center Booth

Camelot Care Centers strives to serve youth in foster care in hopes of reunification back to family or to find them their “forever homes” through guardianship or facilitating adoption. Their comprehensive service line includes case management, foster parent support and training, in home counseling, therapeutic mentoring and access to tele psychiatry to help create healthy environments of care. Camelot Care Centers have offered a broad range of youth and family services since 1972. All services provided are designed to maintain children at the least restrictive, yet most appropriate level of care and to support youth in care of Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) in foster homes. Senior Book Club: The Dry, A Novel

Meet with us the second Tuesday of every month for a book club just for seniors. We will be discussing The Dry: A Novel by Jane Harper. Set in Australia amid the worst drought in a century, it has been said that “the dry” is actually a character in this riveting mystery novel. Read The Dry and experience it as if you were there in this debut novel by Jane Harper, and the first book in her Aaron Falk series. Books will be available in the Adult Services department. Grief Support Group

Join others going through grief and loss and receive support in a safe and confidential setting with the facilitation from Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Lee Scott. In this ongoing grief support group, you will have the opportunity to share your experiences with grief, receive insight from peers and the facilitator on the grieving process, and learn more about grief. This group is open to adults experiencing grief from any loss, no matter where they are on this journey. This support group is free and intended for adults. No registration is required. The Life and Music of Jimi Hendrix

From the early stages of his career as a backing musician, Jimi Hendrix played with the likes of Wilson Pickett, Little Richard, Jackie Wilson, Sam Cooke, and the Isley Brothers. In 1967, he skyrocketed into superstardom and revolutionized the sound of the electric guitar. During this program, we will look back at his short and prosperous musical career, from his early years up to his untimely death in 1970 at the age of 27. Pokémon Club

Healthy Aging with Home Instead

This spring, put your health first! Home Instead will be leading three workshops on a variety of topics related to healthy aging. Each workshop will expand on Home Instead’s ongoing article series published in the Daily Chronicle. In April we’ll discuss healthy eating and making your own overnight oats. Home Instead DeKalb is a locally owned and operated franchise that serves DeKalb, Lee, Ogle, and parts of Kane Counties. Home Instead has been serving these counties since 2009, and since 2019 has been under the leadership of Rob and Al Mondi, a father-son team hoping to continue serving the local senior community and allowing their clients to age in place at home. That’s our book club for students in grades K-2. We read shorter chapter books with lots of pictures. An Evening of Encores with Kara Eubanks
Time: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

As a classical performer, Kara has performed solo and chamber music across North America and Europe. Her orchestral career includes membership in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Paris’s Fontainebleau Chamber Orchestra, and NYC’s DiCapo Opera. She is a member of the Sycamore Music Hall of Fame in her hometown of Sycamore, Illinois. This hour-long performance, with an intermission, will feature popular and crowd-pleasing classical and romantic pieces for the violin and piano. Kara has been on the violin faculty at Northern Illinois University, CUNY Brooklyn Conservatory, and has taught music theory at the University of Oregon. Her greatest passion is mentoring young artists at Japan-Seattle Suzuki Institute, Oregon Suzuki Institute, and the Willamette Violin Academy. This concert is free and open to all. Hygge (pronounced ‘HOO-gah’) means coziness, candlelight, nature, and meeting with friends.
