On August 7, 2018, the DeKalb Police Department received calls of possible gun shots being fired around the 800 block of North Annie Glidden Road. Officers from DeKalb City, DeKalb County, and Northern Illinois University immediately responded to the area. Officers located several shell casings in a parking lot, 900 block of Pappas Drive.
With the assistance from the community and video surveillance, Officers identified the suspect in this shooting. DeKalb Police Officers searched an apartment in the 800 block of Spiros Court. During the search, Officers recovered two guns which were hidden within the apartment.
One of the guns recovered from the apartment matches the caliber of the casings that were recovered on Pappas Drive.
The DeKalb Police Department arrested a 16-year-old juvenile from Aurora IL. The juvenile has been charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and will be transported to the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center.
