The Sycamore Park District would like to bring to your attention changes to its fall program guide. Along with these changes, the District is excited to announce two new programming space partnerships. Since the need to relocate ten programs came right as the fall program guides arrived in our residents’ mailboxes, staff is reaching out to inform residents of the following changes.
The following fitness and early childhood programs will be held at the Northern Illinois Dance Center, 2180 Oakland Drive in Sycamore: Body Boot Camp, Jazz Fitness, Mommy & Me Fitness, Tot Rock and Kid Rock. The Dance Center’s staff has been extremely accommodating and helpful in making this a seamless transition and Park District staff can’t wait for participants to see this beautiful space.
The Park District’s popular Mom’s Time Out program will now be held at the Midwest Museum of Natural History, 425 W State Street in Sycamore, beginning September 9 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am to 12pm. The District currently partners with the Midwest Museum of Natural History to provide youth natural history programs. This new endeavor is sure to bring exciting opportunities for both entities to grow in new ways.
Through the uncertainty and challenges that this transition brought, the Park District lost one fitness instructor and has decided to cancel the following programs: Sit and Fit, Rise and Shine, Basic Fitness and 40 Minute Muscle.
Park District staff would like to thank all individuals, businesses and organizations who offered support and/or programming space as staff tried to find these programs a new home – proving that residents not only value their park district’s services, but more importantly, that Sycamore is a community of individuals and businesses dedicated to helping one another solve problems and provide more for its residents.
If you are uncertain of a program’s location or status, please call 815-895-3365 or view the electronic version of the brochure located in the right-hand column on the District’s website.
