Blumen Gardens is honoring the Wally Thurow “Mr. Pumpkin” Scholarship Fund during Blumen Gardens October Gardening and Giving event on Saturday, October 17, 2015. The scholarship fund is set up through the DeKalb County Community Foundation. You can find out more about it online here. Community supporters of this scholarship fund will be at the event to talk with customers and give more information about this scholarship fund at the event.
Wally Thurow was the founder of Sycamore’s annual Pumpkin Festival. The event began when Mr. Thurow adorned his front lawn with decorated pumpkins. Since then, the festival has grown to include a carnival, street performances, a flea market, its famously grand parade, and of course, the courthouse lawn display of decorated pumpkins. This year, come enjoy the 54th Year of the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival from Wednesday, October 21 – 25.
Stop in on Saturday, October 17th, when 10% of sales in the Blumen Gardens Gift and Garden Shop will be donated to the Wally Thurow “Mr. Pumpkin” Scholarship Fund which will support Sycamore High School Graduates!
