The DeKalb Police Department, DeKalb Park District, and KishHealth System will collaborate in presenting bicycle equipment and ridership safety to DeKalb Park District’s summer camp this Thursday, July 21st, 2016 at 2:00PM at Little John Elementary School.
This presentation will host approximately 30 children ages 5-10 to include a small amount of classroom time followed by riding drills. Topics will include equipment safety, riding confidence, and accident avoidance. We all understand how important a child’s first bicycle can be and the freedom related to riding a bicycle. Riding to the pool or to the neighborhood park, a child’s bicycle is his or her first car and can be remembered forever. Our objective is to help children understand the opportunities and risks of riding so they may have a safe summer this year and in the years to come.
