Community members are encouraged to submit nominations for the 26th Annual DeKalb ATHENA Award and Women of Accomplishment. The ATHENA Award recognizes an individual for business and professional accomplishments, for community service, and for serving as a role model to encourage women to reach their full leadership potential. Both women and men are eligible for the award. ATHENA nominees must live or work in DeKalb and still be active in their careers. The Women of Accomplishment Award recognizes those who embody the ATHENA criteria but who are retired or no longer working in DeKalb County.
The ATHENA recognition is a national program sponsored locally by the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce, DeKalb Sycamore Chevrolet Cadillac GMC and the Daily Chronicle. This year’s award recognition event will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 and is open to the community.
Deadline for nominations is 5 p.m., Monday, August 31, 2015. Nomination forms are available at the DeKalb Chamber office, located at 164 East Lincoln Highway and also online at www.dekalb.org.
