The DeKalb Police Department is looking for your help to locate Rodrick D. Smith. Rodrick is 25 years of age, from Berkeley, Illinois and is currently wanted in reference to two separate violent incidents that occurred in DeKalb.
On February 24th, 2019, DeKalb Police investigated a domestic dispute which occurred in the 800 block of Spiros Court. Rodrick Smith reportedly battered and strangled his pregnant girlfriend, then fled the scene prior to police arriving. On March 1st, 2019, Kishwaukee Community Hospital reported to the DeKalb Police that there was a victim who arrived at the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Investigators learned that the victim was at her residence in the 700 block of North Annie Glidden Road when she was shot by Rodrick Smith.
Arrest warrants have been issued for Smith’s arrest. The first warrant was issued for Aggravated Domestic Battery, a no bond warrant. The second warrant was issued for Armed Violence, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Armed Habitual Criminal and Aggravated Battery, bond was set at $500,000, 10% to apply. DeKalb Police are working with federal law enforcement agencies in an effort to locate and arrest Smith, he should be considered ARMED AND DANGEROUS.
